Greetings from Pink Inc.

It is May and as spring has arrived there is LOTS of GREAT stuff going on at Pink Inc! In this News and Ideas I wanted to share with you some of the awards and accolades that we are hearing at Pink Inc.

Constant Contact says Pink Inc. is an Email Marketing All Star
They say: Kudos to you! In 2009, you did email marketing the way it's supposed to be done. That's why we named you a Constant Contact Email Marketing All Star for 2009 and we want to congratulate you for being part of this special group.

NEWS FROM PINK INC.
DEBRA INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF LEGENDS!

I am truly excited to announce that I am being inducted into the Hall of Legends!  It is an honor I have gladly accepted from the 2010 ISES NY Metro Chapter!  The induction will be at this year's Big Apple Awards on June 29th. I sincerely hope you will attend! We are even designing the stage set!

We will be submitting one of our Great Events from this year in NYC and of course you should too!  You don’t have to be an ISES member to be a Big Apple Award (BAA) winner!

Indeed I am very happy to be selected to be inducted into the International Special Events Society (ISES) New York Metro Chapter's Hall of Legends

This is why!

"ISES recognizes industry leaders from the NY Metro area for our Hall of Legends that have shown leadership in, and significantly contributed to the advancement of, the special events industry.

Your ability to create and grow a new market within the events industry for custom fabric structures has made a lasting impact on our industry.

Even more impressive, however, is your incredible commitment to ISES and the special events community at large."

WHO KNEW?
A COMMENDATION FROM MAYOR MENINO AT BOSTON CITY HALL!

The Boston City Council awarded “A Commendation” to us for the work we did with the West End Children’s Festival last August. Pink Inc fabric structures were installed with community members throughout the festival area.

The community members were of all ages, and we were awarded for our "generous donation of time and talent, and for showing the team how to create something beautiful from teamwork and basic materials".

It was great creating tensile installations with folks that have never done anything like this, learned a lot and will always remember the experience.

TENSION FABRIC SPOTLIGHT
ALWIN NIKOLAIS

When I first began to build art in motion performances, I was often able to see Nikolais Dance Theater.  Recently I saw they were performing for the Centennial of Nik's birthday. Even though he is no longer alive, his works live on.  I was excited to see two different programs, one at Henry Street Settlement where some of the work from the 1950’s was actually created!

I loved the “exotic bags” noumenon that changed shapes and made your mind create images as the shapes shifted before your eyes.  The work made your field of vision open wide to accept the full stage picture of the environment that became alive and stretched your imagination.

Alwin Nikolais was a pioneer in combining movement, lighting, soundscapes into an innovative creative vision. He was truly innovating with new materials into complete shows, before multi-media existed. Nik had one of Moog’s first synthesizers!

Here are a few other videos that I liked and saw last week in NYC, at the Joyce Theater and Henry Street Settlement!
