Greetings from Pink Inc.
Happy New Year!  We had quite a ride last year—so many terrific shows, exhibits, events, products, and new and expanding collaborations and partnerships.  And, despite the recent economic bumps and spills, we are greeting the New Year with a fresh resolve to stay positive, stay green and stay ahead of the curve.  We look forward to meeting the challenges of the upcoming year and remain committed to helping our company and yours not just survive, but really thrive in 2009.   Cheers!

PINK INC. NEWS
IT IS AN HONOR JUST TO BE NOMINATED.. NO REALLY, IT IS!

We are delighted to be nominated for a Gala Award to be presented at the Gala Award Celebration on January 30, 2009 at the Special Event Conference and Tradeshow in San Diego.  The Gala Awards are the event industry’s Oscars, so it really is an honor just to be nominated!!  We are being recognized for our new product, The Coves, which was created for Nautica and made its debut at the NYC DIFFA by Design event last March. It’s an eye-catching, elegant set design structure—and it’s available for rent.

Pink Inc. is also up for an Event Solutions Spotlight Award in the Rental Company of the Year category.
You can vote for your favorite at event-solutions.com/spotlight/vote/.
Be sure to vote early and vote often—but of course only one ballot per email address will be counted.  Awards will be presented on February 26, 2009.

Pink Inc. ProJEct Spotlight

One of the most exciting events we’ve contributed to recently was the anyspacewhatever show at the Guggenheim Museum.  The exhibit brought together ten artists who used the museum environment itself as their artistic platforms, challenging our understanding of art and space.  A piece of art or an exhibition, then, can include film, performances, a shared meal, or a social space.

Pink Inc. worked on the museum’s behalf to support artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, who created a quiet space free from the distractions of the museum environment where visitors could hear and experience the sound of falling rain that the artist produced.  Our floating fabric screen helped bring his vision to life by neutralizing and focusing the interior space to enhance the goal of serenity in the overall environment.  Creating quiet might seem simple, but simplicity is often complex—if you know what we mean—so we are quite proud of our achievement. Pink Inc. ProDUct Spotlight

Our performance colleagues Acroback brought their Human Mobile to the Anadarko Holiday Gala in Houston, TX in early December. The wintry event at the Hyatt Regency was a real treat for everyone involved.  Pink Inc. created a 5’ Snowflake that provided the fourth and final counterweight to the three Mobilists.

As you settle into this long winter, consider adding a Snowflake or two to your winter event design.

A word WITH Debra

In our extensive travels throughout the country, we meet tons of event types and, frankly, most of you have the uncertain economy on your minds.  Everyone is looking to do more with less this coming year – and hoping to still make money doing it.   One way to ensure that your events will look stunning without breaking the bank is to think: Recycle, Re-use, Rent.  Pink Inc. can save you money—and decrease your event footprint—with tension fabric décor from our extensive rental line.  Use what you need and send it back when you’re done.  And because our structures are lightweight, you’ll save on shipping and drayage as well.
